Multi-level business opportunities, like the one provided by Youngevity, are nothing new, but they certainly mean different things to a lot of people.
The general consensus about this type of marketing structure is that they are scams or that they’re trying to rip off their customers.
This isn’t true, and today we’re going to tell you all about MLMs.
In specific, we’ll tell you about this particular brand so you can make a better decision as to whether or not you’d like to take part in this business.
What is Youngevity?
Youngevity is a pretty versatile brand.
They have more than 2,000 products for sale and they operate as a penny-stock MLM opportunity.
Known fully as Youngevity International, they are based in California.
They work primarily selling things to improve overall health and nutrition.
They’re known for using high-quality ingredients and taking care and time to package their things.
The company says that this is what makes them different than any other similar brands.
They’re definitely well-known for their products, and while they have received some bad reviews (just like any brand) many people find them affordable and favorable.
Their business opportunity, on the other hand, isn’t the best that we’ve seen.
Youngevity: What Do They Sell?
Youngevity sells a huge number of products.
Youngevity, the parent company, actually operates 31 different brands that sell things in 15 different categories.
- Their 90 For Life products, which we will discuss in a bit, are arguably their biggest line.
- They have food and beverage options and even have a line of prepackaged snacks for people who are on-the-go.
- They have beauty products – like health and skincare items, essential oils, healthy makeup.
- They sell home, garden, and pet products made with good ingredients.
They also offer a huge variety of starter products that accommodate the different lines of products.
For example, theri Athletes Starter Pack will provide you with nutritional supplements and healthy foods intended to keep you going for longer.
Youngevity Most Popular Products
Youngevity sells a huge number of products so it can be a bit difficult to pick out which ones are the most popular.
That said, some of them seem to sell a lot better than others.
These are what we’ve deduced to be the most popular.
Beyond Tangy Tangerine 2.0
Beyond Tangy Tangerine 2.0 is, obviously, a new-and-improved version of their Beyond Tangy Tangerine 1.0.
This version of the product contains 16 essential nutrients that have been extracted from natural sources.
This differs from the original, in which the nutrients were extracted from synthetic sources.
There is a surprising amount of testimony to support this product and it certainly contains a huge number of antioxidants and important nutrients
Beyond Osteo-fx
Beyond Osteo-fx is a supplement that’s developed to help maintain and build strength in the joints and bones, preventing conditions like osteoarthritis.
It’s full of antioxidants and targets free radicals and oxidative stress that can contribute to damaged bones and joints.
It also provides you with a significant source of calcium.
Imortalium
Imortalium, one of the cooler sounding products that they sell, is developed to turn you into an immortal deity.
Or, at least to help fight off some of the natural age-related symptoms that we see as we grow older.
There are a ton of different natural supplements included in this mixture.
Does Youngevity Work?
Youngevity is actually founded by a doctor who is a bit of a pioneer in biomedical research.
Dr Joel D. Wallach, a mineral doctor, is the founder and owner of the company.
He has been doing research of nutritional minerals, particularly selenium, for 40 years.
He made a groundbreaking discovery in the treatment of cystic fibrosis.
He even works actively to help the FDA improve their policies.
Needless to say, the head of Youngevity is a guy who seriously knows his stuff.
He’s got a great research background and has helped make big differences in the health world.
Their main sloga, “90 For Life,” was developed by Dr. Wallach.
After discovering that the body relies on 90 essential nutrients for its best health, he decided to represent this fact in the company logo.
Their products are claimed to have a bioavailability (the rate at which the nutrients are absorbed) of 90-98%, which is pretty much insane.
It’s next-to-impossible to achieve a bioavailability this high without intravenously injecting something.
All that said, there’s not a lot of actual evidence that proves these products work.
They rely on a specific type of mineral, known as colloidal mineral, to provide health benefits.
While the minerals themselves have been proven to work, the things that Youngevity sells have not.
Youngevity MLM Business Opportunity
Youngevity allows people to join the company in a multi-level marketing opportunity.
This means that customers can sign up to sell products themselves.
You will also be able to recruit new members to do the same.
If you work hard and put in a lot of hours, it’s possible to earn a sustainable income this way.
Possible, but not easy.
Many people believe that MLMs are just a good way to earn some supplemental income to go along with your main source of income, but even that takes hard work.
The more products you sell and the more people that you recruit, the higher your rank will become.
This will indicate how much you can get paid.
Youngevity: The Compensation Plan
Youngevity offers a unique business opportunity because they allow you to join a Unilevel Compensation Plan.
You will join as an independent distributor, which will only cost you $25.
This is quite fair compared to other MLMs.
You will then have ten different ways which allow you to earn money and bonuses through their compensation plan.
You will eventually be able to make 30 percent commission on anything that you sell.
You will also be able to recruit new members to join the company.
If you work with enough dedication you will be able to earn between 5-8% of commission on your ‘downline’ members, meaning you’ll earn money for everything that they sell.
They also offer a wide variety of financial bonuses and other things to keep you going.
They give away free products on a monthly basis, raffle off dream cars and vacations, and share revenue.
If you sell Three Healthy Body Starter Packs, for example, you will receive one for yourself.
Is Youngevity A Pyramid Scheme?
Most MLM opportunities are similar to pyramid schemes.
The reason that pyramid schemes have a bad connotation is because of the word scheme, which generally implies someone is up to something sheisty.
When you join a business like this, you should know what you’re getting into.
You know that you’re starting at the bottom and you have a chance to work your way closer to the top.
You won’t ever be able to work your way past the highest ranked distributor.
That is to say, you won’t become the CEO of this company.
The CEO is always at the top, and that’s likely where the term ‘pyramid scheme’ originated.
Youngevity Reviews
There have been a wide assortment of reviews and complaints from customers who have purchased products from Youngevity before.
Their Healthy Body Start Pak, one of their most popular products, has received varying reviews across the board.
The most recent reviewer had a great experience after using the product for a couple months.
They said that they have lots of energy that can be felt right away “from very first intake that last all day.”
They also no longer need to take “habitual naps” and can get by after just a “rest for 20 minutes instead.”
They said that their hair and skin seemed healthy and that even her very healthy aunt “commented on my improved appearance.”
Other people didn’t seem to have such a great time using the Pak.
One user developed constipation, which they had “never had problems with.”
Now they are “so constipated that I had to buy something to help me go to the bathroom.”
Their juice mixes are quite positively reviewed.
Their Ultimate Tangy Tangerine, which contains all 90 of the essential vitamins and minerals that the CEO believes are necessary, has a solid 3 stars on Amazon.
One user reported that it made them “queasy” and gave them two stars.
However it’s quite common that people who are replenishing a lot of lost or missing nutrients may experience queasiness.
Another member was just “disappointed” and didn’t “notice a difference in my energy level.”
Most of the other reviews are positive.
Many five star ratings report how amazing it is, saying things like “upon first taking it, I could notice a difference.”
Youngevity Prices & Where To Buy
Since Youngevity operates as a MLM, it would make sense that you could only buy products from their website or from their distributors.
Unfortunately – or fortunately, depending on how you look at it – Longevity products are available in many places.
It’s particularly easy to find Longevity products on the internet.
They are for sale on Amazon and you can get them here for reasonable prices. For example:
- The 90 For Life Healthy Body Start Park will cost you $140.35 on Amazon but only $129.95 on their website. If you get deals with Amazon shipping, it might be better to get it off this third-party site!
- On Amazon, you can get a bottle of 90 supplement capsules, including selenium, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin D, and vitamin E, for $63.61. The same capsules will only cost you $27.95 if you buy them off of Youngevity’s website. Interestingly, you can also get the same product for $34.45 on eBay.
- You can get 32 oz of Youngevity Beyond Tangy Tangerine for $70.45 on Amazon, whereas the same amount of product will run you just under $40 on their website.
It seems the best and most cost-effective way to get things from Youngevity is to get them from their website.
Plus this way you can earn rank and get better bonuses by continuing to shop with and sell for them.
Youngevity Money Back Guarantee & Refund Policy
Youngevity does offer a 30-day money back guarantee on their products.
You must return the thing that you bought to the customer or to the distributor and pay for shipping if you are hoping to get your money refunded.
Youngevity Pros & Cons
It’s a good idea to understand the pros and cons of any company that you are hoping to be involved with, regardless of whether you’re just buying products or planning to join them.
This way you can weigh out the positives and negatives before making your decision.
Here are the pros and cons for Youngevity:
Pros
- They offer a unilevel compensation plan that makes it easier to manage your work.
- They offer a wide variety of very interesting bonuses and incentives.
- Their money-back guarantee is workable and easy to navigate.
- The company is continually growing and continuing to make more money.
- They were certified by NSF international and provide good quality items.
Cons
- Like most MLM companies, Youngevity is heavily focused on the recruitment aspect of their compensation plan. You may have a hard time making money if you rely specifically on selling products.
- There are some serious risk factors. One thing that was observed by Youngevity itself was that it can’t easily predict the length of time it will be able to keep making its current revenue. They’re also worried about maintaining future growth.
- Joel Wallach, the owner of the company, has some controversial opinions that don’t stand up to medical scrutiny. One thing that’s hotly debated is his claim that 99% of Americans are deficient in some essential mineral. The article he quoted as evidence was a reprinted version of an article written by a farmer published in Cosmopolitan, 1936.
Youngevity Review: Final Verdict
Youngevity is a company that’s owned by a CEO who seems to know his stuff regarding health and nutrition.
Their compensation plan is very fair to those who want to join the company as a distributor.
Their prices are fair for those who don’t.
As with any MLM, we can’t make your decision for you.
However, now you know a bit more about the company and should be able to make your own decision!
