As we get older time takes it tolls on our joints, and we end up with joint point. Also, it maybe a little more difficult to get up from your favorite chair and daily tasks similar.

You may feel like you need a kick start when you get out of bed in the morning. That flight of stairs that you used to run up now takes a bit a bit of time to traverse.

Whatever the reason, be it age or maybe the remnants of an old injury, pain, joint health and inflammation is no joke. Unlike a car engine we can’t just open the hood, lubricate the engine and get going again. So, what can we do?

I dare say we have all heard of the benefits of Omega 3 dietary supplements. This is an essential fatty acid derived from foods, particularly fish like salmon and tuna, that help with pain relief.

There are many supplements available on the market that can boost your intake of Omega 3. One such supplement is Omega XL.

What Is Omega XL?

This is one of several health supplements provided by a company called Great HealthWorks in New Zealand.

The company was founded in 2003 with the aim to create natural ingredients, and an effective Omega XL supplement that could help reduce inflammation. The fish oil contains helpful ingredients such as vitamin E and olive oil.

This combination of Omega 3 fatty acids is patented as Perna Canaliculus PCSO-524.

So is there anything in this companies gel capsules that differs from the many other fish oil supplements available on the market?

Let’s take a look.

How Does Omega XL Work?

how it works

Joint pain can be caused by various things.

  • It may be as a result of injury, new or old.
  • It may also be caused by the inflammation associated with Osteoarthritis or Rheumatoid Arthritis.

There have been many studies carried out as to the effect of Omega 3 on joint pain. In one study, 60 percent of people found that taking a fish oil supplement reduced the pain.

Omega-3 fatty acids are a family of important fats that we must get from our diet. The three main types are ALA, EPA and DHA. The Green Lipped Mussel Oil contains two of these, EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid).

DHA is a key structural component of the brain, the retina of the eyes and numerous important parts of the body.

EPA protects our genes and cell cycle. EPA throughout adult life can help prevent a range of chronic illness.

Neither of these fatty acids occur naturally in the body and therefore must be obtained from food or supplements.

Omega XL claims to contain up to 22 more fatty acids including regular fish oils. It promises to ease pain and inflammation. It would appear science backs up these claims.

There are numerous studies showing the effectiveness of Omega-3 fatty acids in reducing inflammation and helping with joint health. They can also help lower blood pressure and decrease the risks of heart disease.

There are many dissatisfied customers who have found cancelling this nigh on impossible. There appears to be an strong push for further sales from the company when people call to cancel.

Karin P writes:

I decided to give Omega XL a try about 9 months ago. I can’t say for sure whether it has helped or not, but have now cancelled because of their horrible sales tactics. I could not afford the monthly auto shipments and tried to cancel several times only to be persuaded by a “special offer,” which turned out to be total ********. They were supposed to put a hold on the shipments and not charge my card until they resumed next spring, but the bottles keep coming and so do the charges to my credit card.

Omega XL Review: Final Verdict

omega xl pills review - verdict

There are many Omega 3 supplements on the market. Many studies have shown that this can help reduce pain and inflammation. Omega XL is one such supplement.

The price point may be higher than others on the market. You also have no choice, if you want to take advantage of their reduced first purchase offer, but to agree to an auto ship programme. It would appear that this may then be difficult to cancel.

There appear to be many people who have benefited from taking this product. Likewise, there are others that feel the product does not work. If you like fish then you may decide that consuming healthy salmon or tuna twice a week would be a better way to source Omega 3.

If you are allergic to fish, or don’t like taking the larger fish oil capsules then the cost of this supplement may be worth it.

You may also want to know where your Omega 3 is sourced. This supplement appears to come from an area that is free of pollutants. And after all if Larry King is to be believed, he can now bend over and put his socks on in the morning without feeling any pain!

20 Replies to Omega XL Review: Does It Really Work?

  1. I have been taking Omega XL for 4 years. I recently stopped taking them for 3months & the last 2 month I begin to have pain in my joints & swollen & painful knees. I Started back on them 2 days ago & I am absolutely happy to say that my joints & the pain I felt are finding relief with Omega XL. I gladly give them 5 stars. I will stay with this product & take it faithfully! As for the price I am very satisfied because they are worth it to me!

    1. I Ralph has been taking Omega XLfor about 3yrs with the total of 6 bottles. And always the same result NOTHING! I wish there was something I could do to help with this pain. God bless me for over 20 year’s to take care of my sick wife because of LUPUS. When she passed 3 years ago I thought that I had a chance to live again. Maybe it wasn’t meant for me.

      1. I was order one time on my debit card. For $44.90.they took the on July 29 2019.the man l spoke he said if the medication doesn’t work after 90 days return them .what. Happen now l don’t. 2. I have a my back my knees lotta pain every night when I’m sleeping I can’t my name is Nadia I see Larry In Tv talking about omega XL I need to trye One thanks

  3. I have been taking OMEGA XL since spring of 2013. There are times when my finances cannot support the bi-monthly shipments (every two months for me because I negotiated this arrangement with Great Health Works very helpful customer service department). When finances are tight, I just call customer service and they postpone the shipment til the next month. This arrangement has never been a problem.
However, when I miss a week of NOT taking these capsules, all the pain in my finger joints, knees, and sciatic nerve comes back in full force. When I can afford my next shipment and begin taking the OMEGA XL capsules again, within three to four days, the intense arthritis pain and sciatic nerve pain begins to subside. Within a week, the pain is reduced to almost nothing.
I highly recommend OMEGA XL and I also applaud their customer service representatives for their professionalism and helpful assistance.

  4. BE CAREFUL When canceling this product. They say you can cancel by email and then the email bounces and you are immediately charged for the next month. Cancel direct orders of OmegaXL by calling 800-488-8082.

  5. Product doesn’t work and it’s very hard to receive a refund. Been waiting over 3 months for refund and everytime I call they just say they are going to reissue the refund and it takes 10-15 business days when everything else is usually only 3-5 business days when receiving a refund. Still 3 months later no refund and now got to wait another 10-15 days to see if i finally receive it or if im gonna have to call again for them to tell me the same thing they been telling me for 3 months. Bottom line I don’t recommend this product or company to anyone!!!!!

  6. I love this product. I have MS, and it helps with my joint pain, I stopped taking it for awhile, and noticed awful hip pain again when I walked even short distances. I do think it is pricey, and it is really over my budget, but it does work for me.

  7. this is how u stop them from billing u.tell the bank u lost your credit card and when they try to bill u surprise it gets rejected because u have a different card number.the bank will send u a new card with a diff number

    1. I’ve had to do that before(not to this company) and it definitely took care of that problem! I wonder why most don’t think to do that ?

  8. I took Omega XL for nine years and It didn’t work for me. Every time I wanted to cancel they would talk me back nto trying it differently. After canceling they kept sending it and charging my card. My legs were alway hurting. I feel so much better since I stopped taking it. It might work for some people but It didn’t work for me. Good luck to those that’s taking it.

    1. Well it seems like you have to use this for life? thats quite expensive I thought when you use it for a while you will stop having pain but instead it just numbs the pain so you are stuck for life, that makes no sense so it’s doing the same thing Motrin does kills the pain for a while. It would make more sense to take something that would get rid of the inflammation.

  9. We were not satisfied with this product at all and when I tried to cancel the subscription they say you have to wait the 90 days. When I tried to cancel within the time we were guaranteed, they said we were three days over the 90 days and did not refund the shipments. After complaining to a customer service person they did credit the order we received yesterday. A lot of hassle for nothing…….

  10. I believed the ads and ordered since January of this year. It appeared to work at the beginning but my hip and knee pains continued. I called them two days ago to cancel and got the usual sales pitch. I was firm and adamant about the cancellation. Finally got an email confirming the cancellation. Will see what happens next month.

  11. I really can’t stand companies who try to FORCE a person to buy their products! It’s unethical. Either a person wants it or doesn’t want it. Why the resistance? In my opinion that’s terrible customer service. They’re basically calling us stupid and insinuating we don’t know what’s good for us therefore we must be forced into an agreement or fight like hell to get out of it!!! Shame on them. This is the type of predatory capitalism that represents all that’s wrong and evil in modern business. Know what you’re up against and fight it.
