If this sounds like you, you need a supplement to keep your nutrient levels topped up.

Juice Plus+ is a fruit and veggie supplement that packs the nutrients of 40+ fruits, veggies, and grains into chewables or capsules.

Keep reading for a comprehensive Juice Plus+ review complete with ingredients, pros, cons, side effects, and benefits.

Is Juice Plus+ the nutrient booster for you?

Or is it a flashy marketing ploy with little substance?

Let’s find out.

What Is Juice Plus?

Juice Plus+ is an American brand under the company National Safety Associates, founded in 1970.

NSA moved into health supplements and created Juice Plus+ products in 1993.

The goal was to help Americans to increase their daily intake of fruits and vegetables to improve an otherwise nutrient-lacking diet.

It’s worth noting that Juice Plus+ is run via the Multi-Level-Marketing model, which can be an alarm bell for many people.

Juice Plus+ comes in either capsules or chewables, made from the concentrated powder and oils of 40+ fruits, vegetables, and grains.

Before going further, it’s important to clarify that these supplements aren’t weight loss pills, fat burners, or brain boosters, they’re simply concentrated fruit and veggies with added vitamins and minerals.

Juice Plus+ is careful to let consumers know that their products are not to be taken as a replacement for or alternative to real fresh produce.

They are to be taken as supplements to fill any nutritional gaps.

Juice plus also make nutritional bars and meal-replacement powders under their “complete” range.

However, this review focuses on the capsule and chewable supplements.

There are different “blends” available to cater to different nutrient requirements:

  • Fruit blend.
  • Vegetable blend.
  • Berry blend.
  • Omega blend.

How Does Juice Plus Work?

Juice Plus pills on hand

Juice Plus+ works by providing the body with a wide range of vitamins, phytonutrients, minerals, and antioxidants that may be missing from your regular diet.

It claims to improve overall health and boost energy levels.

Juice Plus Benefits

  • Provides lots of vitamin C, E, A, and folate.
  • Fills in the gaps missing in an everyday diet.

How To Use Juice Plus?

Juice Plus+ couldn’t be easier to take.

You simply swallow two capsules with water and a meal each day or chew 4 chewables each day.

Juice Plus Side Effects

Juice Plus+ doesn’t have worrisome ingredients (such as caffeine or synephrine which can cause jitters or anxiety).

Because it mostly contains fruit and vegetable concentrates and some additional vitamins and minerals, side-effects are mild if experienced at all.

However, some customers have reported an upset stomach and nausea after taking Juice Plus+:

“I purchased this a few months ago…currently dealing with stomach issues and I cannot take this as it makes it 10 times worse just sitting in a box collecting dust”.

Aside from a sore tummy, reports of rashes have been found in clinical studies, but this is an unlikely occurrence.

It’s a good idea to double-check the ingredients list to see if there’s anything included that you are allergic or averse to.

Is Juice Plus A Scam?

Juice Plus+ it’s not necessarily a scam, but it does follow the MLM model which is off-putting to many people due to the similarity to pyramid schemes.

However, some unhappy customers have used the word “scam” when describing their experiences.

They found that Juice Plus+ made zero difference to their health, and some even had trouble canceling their subscription or getting a refund on their considerable investment.

While there’s nothing dangerous or controversial used in the Juice Plus+ formulas, they may not be as life-changing as the research suggests.

It’s suspected that much of the clinical trialling and research conducted are commissioned by Juice Plus+ and may not be unbiased or totally reliable.

While some people have found that Juice Plus+ has helped to stave off colds and has strengthened their hair and nails, others feel that it’s merely an expensive gimmick with little-or-no pay-off.

Juice Plus Reviews & Complaints

When looking through review sites, it’s clear that people either love Juice Plus+ or hate it.

Many people have said that it’s simply an extremely overpriced gimmick with no results whatsoever:

“Tried this product a friend was selling. Already had a healthy diet, regular exercise and adequate rest. Hoped specifically for increased energy, stronger nails and hair.NO CHANGES whatsoever in 3 months.”

Others have run into trouble with the MLM marketing model:

“Buyers beware . Don’t throw away $500 for fruit, veg, berries supplements from The Juice Plus + Company. All they want is your money then they don’t want to know about you. This is pyramid selling. These supplements do not work. Once you are signed up the seller then joins you to their Secret Site. If you read what you have to do even with these supplements of course you would feel good etc. The strenuous exercise, excessive water drinking and the small amounts of food to be eaten. This company is appalling.”

“Overpriced and nothing you can’t get from the supermarket. The MLM should have been my first red flag, instead I wasted hundreds of dollars on something that did absolutely nothing. There’s nothing different or revolutionary here, just hype and marketing.”

It’s very hard if not impossible to decipher which positive reviews are genuine and which are written by those in the Juice Plus+ MLM scheme.

Some of the positive reviews are a little hard to believe, claiming extreme improvements in health, for example:

“Love these products!!! Been a raving fan since 2017. Within weeks this exhausted mum felt bounds of energy, relieved my ongoing joint pain & my kid’s eczema vanished. Very grateful to have something natural, high quality & convenient every day to keep my health at its best”.

Juice Plus Review: Final Verdict

Juice Plus pills

While Juice Plus+ sounds like a great idea, in theory, it’s extremely expensive and unlikely to be worth the cash.

You would be better off making slight improvements to your diet by adding more fresh fruits and veggies when you can.

To bridge any gaps, ask your doctor or healthcare specialist to recommend an over-the-counter supplement or multivitamin for a fraction of the cost.

You will get the same benefits (if not better) without handing over extortionate amounts of money and having to worry about cancelations, refunds, and potentially being sucked in by MLM marketers.

2 Replies to Juice Plus Review: Does It Really Work?

  1. I will because I have read the Science behind it and it IS Valid.
Also because what is on the label is IN the product. My family has been taking these products for 20 years now and the Physicians we see for our yearly check up and Blood Work cannot believe we are in our 60’s and are NOT on any Rx meds for any reason!
I believe it is because we are feeding our bodies with REAL nutrition that most folks cannot get with our on the go lifestyle.
You should try it before you try to discredit it.
PS: I have over 20+ years experience as a Clinical Microbiologist in a Hospital Laboratory setting…..

    1. Dear Cody, I’m curious why you take on such a review when you obviously have never tried them. Juiceplus is not a synthetic multivitamin supplement. It is fruits and veggies powder compressed into vegan capsules. The reason some people get gassy stomachs and other issues, it’s because their body is eliminating all toxic and regaining a proper functional balance. Imaging if you rarely eat any veggies and fruits and you start eating 20-30 different kind every day, of course you will have gassy stomachs etc. Most also quit taking them too soon. People say they don’t feel a difference, it will be fast changes or none depending on what your body is depleting in. Do you feel a big change if you would add 20-30 veggies for one day only, except for gasses? No, most of us need time and consistency to feel the changes.

The studies, are Gold standard Peer Review facts. 1000’s of Doctors, Dietitians and other Professionals has found this to be legit. Not only the professionals, but ordinary people, who experience the difference by taking them every day. People who suffer from any disorder in their bodily system.

Furthermore, the company who has existed for over 50 years, works within several systems, corporate, franchise and direct sale. A sales representative can sell product only to happy customers, no force to join anything. If they want to help others achieve an extra income they join as partners. Did you know MLM is the most growing business in the world? People are looking for extra income all the time. What’s so wrong with supporting the individual person rather than support global Companies that sell crap? I personally, and my family, has been taking Juiceplus for over 7 years, and testimonials are many. I will always keep taking them, because I know we get the best fuel into our body along with all the whole food we eat. Did you know the company also has a Children Health study, where over 2 miljon kids has improved their health, they eat more fruits and veggies, they have better concentration and less visits to the doctor.

I would suggest you reconsider your advice “To bridge any gaps, ask your doctor or healthcare specialist to recommend an over-the-counter supplement or multivitamin for a fraction of the cost.” All those over- the -counter are synthetics and as you most likely know, very few are approved by FDA and NSF. Besides, most doctors only have 1 hour of nutritional education during their degree, so asking for nutritional advice from them would be my last choice. 🙂
