What is It Works?

It Works is a brand that sells products that are intended to help improve the health of your skin, your overall nutrition, and the shape and size of your body.

The company was founded in 2001.

Cindy and Mark Pentecost, the owners of It Works, started out by selling the Ultimate Body Applicator, which is still the most popular product that they sell.

Their business expanded incredibly quickly, and nowadays, they’re worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

There are more than 10,000 people working with the group, and they only continue to expand.

Their products are known to be quite effective.

However, they have received questionable reviews about their MLM opportunity.

This is the same as pretty much any company that offers this type of business model though, so bear with us – you should understand more about the It Works  before you decide to avoid it.

It Works: What Do They Sell?

Like we said, It Works sells a wide variety of healthcare products that are intended to improve overall health and wellbeing.

  • They have a variety of skin products: cleansers, exfoliants, and toners. Many people compare the things they sell to a low-budget version of similar things sold by Nerium.
  • A wide variety of natural health products that can be consumed as supplements.
  • A huge line of lifestyle products, such as various essential oils, natural mineral salts, and coconut oil.

It Works Most Popular Products

By far, the most popular product that they sell is the Ultimate Body Applicator.

The Ultimate Body Applicator is a very versatile tool.

It’s a cloth wrap that you can tighten around your body.

It claims to help you get rid of cellulite and tighten and tone the skin which can improve muscle tone.

You can use the Ultimate Body Applicator in various areas.

It can easily be used on your abdomen, your back, your legs, and your posterior.

They also offer a gel that’s best used together with the body wrap, which is extremely possible.

Their Green line is also very popular.

The Green line is a series of natural nutritional supplements that can improve various aspects of your health.

Does It Works Work?

The fact that their Ultimate Body Wrap was enough to launch them into a multi-million dollar enterprise certainly suggests that it works – or at least that’s what some people seem to think.

There is some evidence to the contrary, and they have received some bad reviews, but many people swear by them.

A lot of the things that they sell are natural Lifestyle or Green products.

In the case of their supplements and food products, since they use a lot of natural ingredients, there’s no reason that these things shouldn’t work for anyone.

Be careful if you have allergies and double check the ingredients before making and big purchases.

It Works MLM Business Opportunity

A lot of people consider MLM business opportunities to be something new, but they’ve been around as long as businesses have been around.

A MLM opportunity is simply a business structure in which customers are able to take part in the sales of the company.

They are also able to recruit more members to be the same.

As you sell products and recruit members, you will increase in rank.

These are the ‘levels’ of these companies.

The more levels that you go up, the better benefits that you will receive when you cash out.

A lot of MLM companies are known for being shady and for treating their customers and representatives badly.

Today we’re going to outline the compensation plan of It Works so you can decide whether or not you think it’s a good idea for you to take part

It Works: The Compensation Plan

One thing that makes It Works stand out above other similar MLM companies is their sense of humor.

Instead of calling the sales crew ‘representatives,’ they call them Entrepreneurs.

As a Wrapreneur, you’re going to have to pay $99 to start selling thing.

This is pretty common among MLM companies.

Some of them even charge more, or have different startup packages that you can choose from.

After you get your startup kit, you’ll be able to start selling.

There are a few ways you can make money.

  • Retail commission. This is the actual profit that you’ll make from selling stuff. Since you get to buy at wholesale prices, you can keep any of the profit that you make from selling stuff.
  • Loyal customer commissions. If you introduce people to the company who end up buying a lot of stuff and continuing to do so, you may get some money from this. Not all MLM companies offer loyal customer commissions, so this is a bonus of working with It Works.
  • Team commissions. This is the big moneymaker for most MLMs. If you get other people to join as Entrepreneurs and start selling stuff for the company, then you’ll earn between 2 and 10% of their income.

Is It Works A Pyramid Scheme?

Most MLM companies are pyramid schemes, no matter how you look at it.

You see, a pyramid scheme is not necessarily a bad thing.

It’s just one way to describe the business structure of the MLM business.

Think of the shape of a pyramid.

At the top, you have the very highest point of the pyramid.

In a business structure, this would be the CEO.

Beneath that, you have all the other bricks that make up the pyramid and allow the top to stand so high.

These are the market partners, or in the case of It Works, the Entrepreneurs.

This isn’t really that much different than most of the corporations that we see today.

The main difference is that it’s easier to tell.

That said, you’re not going to be getting ripped off by joining an MLM company just because they’re pyramid schemes.

If you know how to work within the bounds of the franchise and are a good recruiter, you can make money.

It Works Reviews

At the BBB Better Business Profile, MLM companies are known to have a huge number of negative reviews.

In many cases, both the products and brand itself are dissed.

However, It Works has almost 4 out of 5 stars on the BBB.

This is an improvement over the standard 1 or 2 stars.

That said, there are still a huge number of complaints.

There are 396 complaints and 206 positive reviews for the company.

The most recent reviewer had a terrible experience, claiming that “it does NOT work!!!” After trying her cleanse, she “almost threw up because of it,” despite the fact that she is apparently “not a baby when it comes to things like that.”

She also claimed that after using the “devils cleanse” for two days, the reweighed herself and “didn’t lose anything.”

She certainly won’t be buying from them again.

It’s important to note that the company sought out her, and other people’s, comments.

They posted a response saying that they sent her an email and that they hope to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

One Wrapreneur who has been working for the company for 3 years posted, saying that he can “assure you it’s not a scam.”

He also points out that most people think these MLMs are scams because they don’t want to put in the work.

We all work really hard to reach our promotions.”

He also points out the fact that MLMs have a bad name because some of them “aren’t as ethical as others,” which suggests that he’s tried other MLMs and has found It Works to be authentic.

It Works left a positive comment, saying that they appreciate his feedback and that they’re happy to have him working for them.

It Works Prices & Where To Buy

There are a few places that you can get products from It Works.

The first is from the company itself.

If you want to buy stuff from their website, then you will get way better deals if you are a frequent customer.

This is a bit of overkill, if you ask me.

The retail price of their Ultimate Body Applicators will give you 4 of them for $99.

However, you will hardly be able to see that price because it’s shadowed by the Loyal Customer price of $59.

If you want to be a Loyal Customer then you need to pay for 3 months of autoships.

That would come to $177 for 12 of the units.

That narrows the price from 26.50 each to 14.75.

Unfortunately for everyone involved, it’s pretty easy to find these body wraps – and their other products – elsewhere.

You can buy the same Body Wraps on eBay for less than the Loyal Customer Price.

One user offers Body Wraps for $45.

Some people have speculated that there are subtle differences between this product and those that are actually sold by It Works.

However, another user is selling identical wraps for $69 each.

This is a bit more expensive than the Loyal Customer price but you won’t have to deal with getting auto-ships if you don’t like the product.

This basically means that you’re going to have a hard time making money if you want to sell things for this company because it’s going to be easier for your customers to get stuff online.

It Works Money Back Guarantee & Refund Policy

It Works has a full document that explains their return policy.

It applies to both Loyal and Retail customers, as well as to the Entrepreneurs if they have a problem with their products.

They don’t offer a money-back guarantee because their products don’t promise specific results.

However, Loyal Customers can use the self Service Returns product to create a shipping label.

Anything returned will still be charged shipping costs.

If you want a refund, you will have to return things unopened and pay for shipping.

It Works Pros & Cons

It’s important to understand the pros and cons of any company before you work with them.

  • It Works provides a quality starter kit. It can help you understand the MLM opportunity even if you’ve never worked with one before. It gives you everything you need to start selling.
  • They provide quality online training and a personal mentor to ensure your success.
  • Their customer service is quick, happy, and easy to access.
  • They respond to all the comments posted about them and try to resolve any issues.
  • They are a large company and they are continuing to expand by providing a wide variety of products.

  • There’s hardly any scientific backing to their body wraps. It’s possible that people who lost weight and attributed it to the body wraps just made other lifestyle changes.
  • The FDA actually warns against using body wraps, saying that they’re dangerous.
  • Just like any other MLM, they’ve received tons of complaints.

It Works Review: Final Verdict

One Reply to It Works Review: Is It A Scam?

  1. I have used several of the products and found that they helped with my overall energy level, skin and hair growth! The cleanser didn’t seem to do anything though. There was a small difference when I used the wraps but I am discouraged to continue to use them because of the FDA warning.
