With so many meal replacement shakes out there, it’s become a crowded market.

But with Idealshape reviews being so consistently positive on websites, but contradicted by a significant proportion of customer comments after using them, I thought was worth looking into things more deeply with my own Idealshape review.

Idealshape is sold as a weight loss system, which consists of a range of meal replacement shakes, supplements and snack products.

It’s been on the market for a number of years, and has a large following.

I’ve looked at quite a lot of these shakes and haven’t been impressed generally.

I’m hoping this review of the product, the science behind it, and a deep look at the comments from people who have tried Idealshakes might convince me they are worth the money.

Idealshape Ingredients, Flavors & Tastes

At the core of the range of products are Idealshape shakes, called IdealShakes.

They are all broadly similar in terms of the calories contained within them per 30 g scoop of dry product.

This is also true of proteins, fats and carbohydrates.

Sugars and fiber are also within a gram also between the different flavors.

The flavors currently in the Idealshape IdealShake range are:

  • Chocolate
  • Strawberry
  • Vanilla
  • Mocha
  • Cookies and cream
  • Chocolate cream pie
  • Salted caramel
  • Orange cream
  • Chocolate peanut butter

That’s a range of very sweet toothed flavors.

I’m not really sure how getting people to drink two shakes every day that taste of the thing they are trying to give up can really be helpful?

In most diets that work for the long term, you have to get rid of the cravings by basically removing those things from your diet, so your taste buds and mind adjust.

But perhaps I’m wrong on that, and the Idealshape approach brings reward, by not removing those cravings?

In addition to the usual ingredients that give a shake its consistency and longevity, there are also 21 different vitamins and minerals, plus sodium and potassium.

Idealshape Meal Replacement Results

Idealshape results are apparently obtained through the company taking a slightly different approach to how it constructs its shakes.

Most companies use fiber to basically fill up your stomach.

However, Idealshape take a slightly different approach, using not only fiber but also whey protein and a potato derivative called Slendesta.

Slendesta is a protein extract from beneath the skin of a potato.

It works by telling the body to produce more of something called CCK, which tells the body that it is full.

The problem is that this extract currently has no detailed scientific research confirming that it actually has a positive effect on appetite suppression.

Evidence that Slendesta works is anecdotal or poorly detailed at present.

So although it sounds interesting compared to the usual approach to appetite suppressants in diet products, there is little evidence it’s any better.

Idealshape Side Effects

Idealshape side effects are rarely reported.

This is mostly down to the fact that there are no contentious active ingredients in it.

As we have already seen, the “secret sauce” that differentiates this shake from many others is the use of the potato derivative called Slendesta.

No side effects have been reported from people using Slendesta, but then there is no evidence it suppresses appetite or will help with weight loss either, so Idealshape could have filled their product with something different, but ultimately just as useless.

Is Idealshape A Scam?

I don’t think an Idealshape scam is in evidence.

There are claims made about its effectiveness, but these are well within the scope of reality (filling you up and suppressing appetite) compared to some of the claims made by other similar products.

The company has been around since 2003, and you can buy the products in all the usual places.

Their reputation as a company seems fine, apart from some complaints around struggling to get refunds.

It isn’t cheap, but then none of these specialist diet supplements are.

You get what you pay for in any industry, and generally this appears to contain a similar blend to most other shakes.

Idealshape Reviews

User reviews for the Idealshake range on Amazon are surprisingly positive.

Out of 1700 reviews, 67% are five-star reviews.

Obviously this is very high, usually the split between five-star and one star reviews on this type of product is about even, with the five-star reviews mostly being blatant fake reviews.

The top critical review on Amazon is:

“I was excited to try this because I heard it was comparable to other meal replacement shakes on the market. I followed the instructions and drank 2 shakes a day ate small meals and exercised daily. Drinking these shakes gave me headaches and didn’t really curb my appetite. Unfortunately, it didn’t help give me the boost I was hoping for in my weight loss journey.”

While a couple of the more positive and genuine looking reviews are:

“I went from 190 lb to 176 in less than a month. I was really surprised to say the least. However, you have to use willpower – it is a “MEAL REPLACEMENT. Stick to it. You’re going to get hungry. but it works!”

“Love the taste of this product! Not doing a fantastic job at keeping me full thou! This by far is the best tasting shake I have ever had! There is no gagging while trying to get it down!”

Looking through the positive reviews, there are so many that are apparently genuine in nature, that you have to conclude this supplement is generally well received.

I think part of this success is that it is not as expensive as some of the other supplements, and there aren’t as many people moaning about the taste.

Perhaps also because Idealshape is not sold in a pyramid scheme, there is more than honesty around the fact you will be hungry, and the limits to what can happen without a change in attitude and lifestyle alongside using them.

Idealshape Price & Where To Buy It

If you are wondering where to buy  Idealshape, the obvious place to buy the range is from a major retailer such as Amazon.

The Idealshape price is not cheap, however it does compare favorably to other specialist meal supplement powders out there.

For example, on Amazon a 30 day chocolate flavor Idealshake powder supplement pack is $49.93.

That is less than a quarter of the price of a couple of the other branded diet supplements out there.

Idealshape Money Back Guarantee & Refund Policy

One particular feature that many people tend to look for when they buy a weight loss product from a brand they have not yet tried out before is a money-back guarantee.

Such a feature ensures that a customer can try a product and return it for a refund if the product is unable to help them lose weight effectively – with many products on the market not providing real results to some users, this type of guarantee is important for many people.

Fortunately, IdealShape is one of those brands that offer a full refund on the customer’s order if they are not completely satisfied with the results they achieved while using these products.

The brand allows customers to buy any products from them and give these products a try for up to 30 days.

When the customer decides they are not really happy with the results and would no longer wish to continue using the products, they can get in touch with the brand and arrange a refund.

Idealshape Review: Conclusions

I have mixed feelings about my conclusions for Idealshape.

The positives of this brand of meal replacement shake are:

  • Is not as expensive as many other brands.
  • Has many favorable reviews around the taste and texture.
  • Has many real users who appear to have had positive weight loss outcomes.
  • There is no pyramid selling of this product.

However my negative feelings are:

  • As usual there is no scientific evidence that says the ingredients generate weight loss.
  • It is still expensive in comparison to just having a fiber smoothie and a vitamin tablet.

So I guess that you could give Idealshape a try if you are that way inclined, in terms of skipping meals and replacing them with a sweet flavored shake.
