Amazing Grass Green Superfood Review: Does It Really Work?

When I hear people talk about grass related drinks, I can’t help but picture them juicing the cuttings from their lawns!

This is obviously not the case.

There are now many of these food supplements on the market.

It seems they are aimed at getting us to include more greens in our diet in the easy form of adding them to drinks.

So do they actually taste like grass? And what exactly is in them?

Let’s look at one of them from Amazing Grass.

This company was started in 2002 by two friends, Brandon Bert and Todd Habermehl.

They were co-workers who, after being laid off by the company they were working for, decided to found Amazing Grass.

The Bert family have a farm in Kansas that supplies majority of the greens used by this company.

Brandon was apparently fortunate to grow up with a grandfather who had spent his life growing and dehydrating green foods.

The company aim to help people:

The company produces over 30 products:

• Grass Green Superfood: This comes in the Original formula. There are then 14 other varieties and flavors. These include Detoxifying, Energy, Antioxidant, Immunity, Digestive and Multivitamin Blends. This contains various blends which we will look at in a minute.
• Protein Superfood: This comes in seven varieties with added plant based protein.
• Cereal Grasses: Four options including ingredients like wheat grass, barley grass, alfalfa, kale and moringa and spirulina
• Effervescent: Choice of six flavors of tablets containing 30 superfoods to be dissolved in water.
• Elixir: A choice of three elixirs targeted at dealing with belly, beauty or brain.
• Raw Reserve: Offered in Original and Cherry flavor. This is a combination of whole organic superfoods and cereal grasses.
• Organic Superfood Bars: Six different flavors of nutrition bars. They contain a combination of greens, fruits and veggies to plant-based protein.

We will look at the main ingredients in the Original Grass Green Superfood.

There is some scientific backup that individual ingredients may benefit health. We do not know the exact quantity of these ingredients in the product. It may be they are insufficient to have any benefit.

There are no listed side effects for this product and it may be safe for most.

There are more reviews on this product than any other “greens” powder I have looked at. The ingredients are extensive and may have some health benefits.

Does the product taste like grass?

Some say they can’t get past the taste, even in its different flavored forms. Others either like or don’t mind it.

There are useful smoothie and food recipes on the company website. These may make it more palatable.

The price point for this product is not too high. However if you want to try it and don’t like it you have no return option for opened goods.

It may be an option for consuming more greens. It’s up to you really.

I don’t for one minute suggest you try eating grass from your lawn, but getting more fresh fruit and veg into your diet may give you the same benefits.
