Do you have trouble with your digestive system while travelling? I do all the time, especially when long trips are involved.

Traveler’s diarrhea is quite unpleasant and annoying.

Occasionally, kids develop issues with regularity and digestive upsets which may make them fussy and colicky.

More often the good bacteria in the body is disrupted by various aspects such as stress, food, travelling, and some medications leading to digestive upsets in kids and adults

But I think we now have a solution to balance our digestive system and boost our immune system.

Culturelle offers a variety of products that help restore the good bacteria in your digestive system and boost almost 70% of your immune system (most of the immune system rests in the intestines).

Check out our Culturelle review to get the facts.

What Is Culturelle?

Culturelle is a brand of probiotic supplements that uses 100% Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG bacteria strain to enhance digestion and the immune system.

Currently, Lactobacillus GG (LGG) is the most researched probiotic strain.

In their website, Culturelle states that this strain has been involved in more than 800 studies in a period of 25 years.

Various studies support the work of LGG in preventing diarrhea caused by rotavirus or antibiotics in kids, traveler’s diarrhea in adults and irregularity during chemotherapy.

Additionally, it has been seen to help with ulcerative colitis, bacterial vaginal infections, and irritable bowel syndrome as well as lowering the risk of lung infections in kids.

This probiotic strain is known to survive stomach acid and get to the intestines in good condition, unlike other strains.

Culturelle products are manufactured by Amerifit Brands, located in Cromwell, Connecticut.

We found one comment on Amazon by Scott Brown that might be helpful.

Culturelle did not work for me, it hurt me. The night I first took it, I had such bad stomach aches I couldn’t sleep. During the day my stomach cramped and I had a lot of gas. I thought maybe I needed a few days to get used to it, but after 3 nights unable to sleep, I gave up […] but it exacerbated my symptoms and caused me to lose 5 more pounds that I couldn’t lose.

Is Culturelle A Scam?

Culturelle seems to be working among most users.

It uses Lactobacillus GG, which is among the most studied probiotic strains.

So, NO it is not a scam.

Culturelle Reviews & Complaints

Culturelle has received many positive reviews; however, some users report cases of no results, high price and side effects from the products.

We looked at some of the customer reviews and complaints on Amazon.

Here is some feedback that might be helpful.

Let’s start with the positive ones.

Caroline wrote:

Nothing works as well as Culturelle. I used to have bloating, heartburn, gassiness and indigestion and if I forget to take this, it comes back. I knew it was the right choice, though, when my doctor told me it is the best one on the market. And the price is right, too. It may be a coincidence but since I’ve taken it I NEVER get sick. Not even a cold, not a stomach bug, nothing. Even if my family is ill, I just don’t get it. I started giving it to my husband and kids too.

It worked on Danielle’s kids as seen in Amazon:

My 11 weeks old has had colic, lots of gas (way more than my first born), and bad reflux since he was 2 weeks old […] It has helped his colic, but more than that it’s helped him to be able to use the restroom! His gassiness has gotten a lot better too!! […] Definitely worth the money, because it is a little pricey.

What about the negatives ones?

Baird-Greene acknowledges that it does not work for everyone.

He writes on Amazon:

I won’t say that Culturelle doesn’t work, but I can definitely say it doesn’t work for me. I read the leaflet that came with the product. I was informed that there would be bloating, gas and tummy rumbling in the beginning stages of taking Culturelle. After two weeks, I had to quit taking it. It didn’t help the intestinal problems I have from time to time. It did cause me to have considerable stomach pain and upset.

Some users seemed to complain about the faulty dropper for infants.

This was witnessed by B.Su who reported this on Amazon.

It made my baby’s gas/colic even worse, thought gas was passing through she was screaming in pain. the crying was much worse and we got even less sleep than before, I experimented and on the days we did not take this, the crying/discomfort wasn’t as intense […] And the silly dropper, can’t they think of something so simple, their product is a sticky gooey mess and for tiny infants who are howling already- how can I measure 5 drops when the liquid is so inconsistent. pretty sure she got more than needed.
